The Women’s Justice-Health Alliance (WJHA) is a collaborative initiative dedicated to addressing the unique health needs of justice-involved women in Arkansas.

Launched with the support of a generous $250,000 award from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), our alliance brings together a diverse array of organizations, including academic institutions, community nonprofits, advocacy groups, healthcare providers, religious ministries, and state agencies.

Our Partners

Over the next two years, WJHA will engage in comprehensive preparatory work to identify the priorities and needs of this community. Through interviews and collaboration with our partners, we will develop a research agenda that reflects the voices and concerns of justice-involved women. Our ultimate goal is to create evidence-based practices and solutions that improve health outcomes for these women, fostering a more equitable healthcare system.

We are proud to have Magdalene Serenity House, a residential recovery program in Fayetteville, as a founding partner and co-leader of this project. As we grow our alliance, we look forward to welcoming more partners and expanding our impact. Together, we aim to create meaningful change and support justice-involved women in their journey toward health and wellness.
